I have a garage shelving unit approx 210cm high and 122cm wide.
I would like to secure it to the wall for safety reasons so it cannot be pulled over.
What type of screw is best to use?
The shelving supports have holes for screws.
To secure your shelving unit to a brick garage wall @electrictiffey, the usual approach is to use a standard timber screw with a plastic wall plug. First, drill a hole in the masonry, insert the wall plug, then screw through the shelving unit into the plug. Masonry fixing kits are handy for this because they include the correctly sized drill bit, plugs, and screws you’ll need, making the process straightforward and safe.
If this is a timber-framed wall, you need to use timber screws directly into the structural timber studwork.
