Hello there!

I wonder how to make a self-watering plant using recycled materials for my assignment. It has to be portable and aesthetically pleasing as well.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @hirvi. It's marvellous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about creating a self-watering planter.

Creating a self-watering planter using recycled materials for your assignment is a fantastic idea!

To get started, begin by researching various self-watering planters available in the market. Pay attention to their designs, functionalities, and materials used. This will provide valuable insights into what works well and what you might want to incorporate into your own design.

Once you've gathered enough information, identify the key features you want your self-watering planter to have. Consider aspects like size, portability, water reservoir capacity, and aesthetic appeal. Sketch out some design ideas based on these features.

Since you're aiming to use recycled materials, take stock of what you have available. Look for containers, bottles, or any other suitable items that can be repurposed for your planter. For example, soda bottles could work well as reservoirs.

Once you have your design and materials ready, it's time to put everything together. Use your sketches as a guide and start assembling your self-watering planter. Make sure to pay attention to details and ensure everything is secure and functional.

After assembling your planter, give it a test run to make sure it's working as intended. Adjust any components or features as needed to improve its functionality. Remember, the key to a successful DIY project is experimentation and problem-solving.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
