How many holes in a 40 cm pot is ‘adequate drainage’?

Hi, I have been gifted a small Lemonicious dwarf  lemon tree and All the research says minimum 50 cm diameter pot with ‘Adequate drainage.’ I have Googled and Googled and no one can tell me if three holes is adequate drainage. Anyone got a thriving Lemonicious and can give me some pot advice please? 🙏

Hi @Lowefam,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

There isn't really a number of holes that makes it adequate, you just want enough at the lowest point of the pot to ensure they do not become blocked.

I think you should be fine with three or four holes. You can always add more later if needs be.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
