Hello,

Does anyone know how to set up a remote sprinkler where I can control remotely when I travel around the world?

Re: Remote Sprikler

Hi AlanM52,

Yes.

Hello MitchellMc,

The Holman soaker hose would be fitted the Holman system but they are too long for the length of the distance at home.

Do you have alternative?

cheers,

Aylie

Re: Remote Sprikler

Hi @buyurownflowers,

Above, you've mentioned 2-5m. The minimum soaker hose is 7.5m. I would just loop it around if it's a bit long. You likely won't find a hose that matches your exact length unless you plan to install a full irrigation system.

From your picture, it looks like you would need at least 7m to run the hose around the garden bed. In the second image, with the pots, the length appears to be approximately 2m on one side and 5m on the other. I'd run the 7.5m hose down one side and then along the other.

If you did want to create a purpose-built irrigation system, here's a helpful guide: How to install an irrigation system.

Re: Remote Sprikler

Hi MitchellMc,

I had put it on the basket to order. It’s a pipe brand not the Holman. I hope it will fit.

Thank you,

Re: Remote Sprikler

The Pope brand fits the Holman timer @buyurownflowers. Bear in mind that you need a short length of hose to run from the timber to the soaker hose.

Re: Remote Sprikler

Hi MitchellMc,

I watched the video of the Pope soak hose and it said that it would connect directly to the tap.

Let me know the short connecting hose I need to buy.

Also, I hardly believe that I need to turn the tap on without water coming out of the Holman system and run by the wifi. it really sounds magical to me.

Cheers,

Aylie

Re: Remote Sprikler

OK,

Looks like you will need someone to setup everything and they should also be familiar with garden watering/irrigation systems.

I suggest finding a place near you that offers:

Google AI (Edited) Places selling water tanks and irrigation supplies are commonly called Water Tank Suppliers and Irrigation Stores.

Cheers

Re: Remote Sprikler

In the video @buyurownflowers, they show them connecting the soaker hose to a standard garden hose. It is this garden hose that is connected to the timer you'll be using. This hose would suit, or you could use your normal garden hose.

It is a bit like magic. The Holman timer has its own tap valve inside it. When the programmed time arrives, it opens its own little valve inside to let the water flow. You can also operate this internal tap in the timer with your phone. Because of this internal valve in the timer, your garden tap can remain on 24/7, and water only comes out of it when the timer allows.

Re: Remote Sprikler

Hello MitchellMc,

Any link for the connecting short hose that fit both the Holman hose and the pipe hose?

Heaps thanks,

Aylie

Re: Remote Sprikler

Hi MitchellMc,

My garden hose is the one I bought from Bunning the 20 m retractable hose reel one. I don’t know if it can connect to the Holman and the pope hose.

Yeah just wondering they are so advanced. I meant once I connect the Holman hose to the tap and open the tap without water coming out. It must have been a strong guarded valve of Holman.

cheers,

Aylie
