Hi all,
How would i go about the backyard landscaping?
There's a stormwater drain at the bottom but the house is elevated and it seems to be roughly 1m difference from bottom to highest point of the slab.
Thinking of a stormwater pit riser then fill?
Or any other suggestions?
Thank you.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Nacht. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about landscaping.
The first thing you’ll need to do is confirm who owns the stormwater pit—whether it’s a private pit located entirely on your property or if it sits on an easement and may be owned or managed by the local water authority. This will determine what you can and can’t do with it.
Raising or modifying a stormwater pit isn’t a DIY job, so you’ll need to engage a licensed drainage plumber. They’ll be able to assess whether it’s appropriate to install a riser and raise the pit level, or if it must remain at its current design height and the surrounding landscaping needs to be shaped to suit. Getting their advice early will help you avoid drainage issues down the track.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
