How do I make indoor potting mix?
Thanks
Phil
Hi @luckyphil69,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
With potting mix for indoor plants, the goal is to create a blend that holds moisture without staying soggy, drains well, and provides good airflow for roots.
To make your own indoor potting mix, you can combine 2 parts coir or peat moss for moisture retention, 1 part perlite to improve drainage and airflow, and 1 part compost to provide nutrients and beneficial microbes.
This blend creates a light, well-draining mix ideal for most indoor plants.
Alternatively, you can purchase premade indoor plant potting mix, which will usually follow a very similar recipe, with some added fertiliser and trace elements.
