Re: How to treat plants with white fly and aphids?

Hello @BismaAbbid

Yes, neem oil can definitely help with both whiteflies and aphids (the tiny green bugs you're seeing). It works as a natural insecticide by disrupting their feeding and reproductive cycles. For your capsicum and mandarin plants, neem oil is a safe and effective first step — especially if you want to avoid harsh chemicals.

To treat the infestation, you can buy Yates 750ml Ready To Use Pest Oil, which is available at Bunnings. Spray thoroughly, especially on the underside of leaves where these pests tend to hide. Early morning or late afternoon is best to avoid leaf burn.

Repeat the spray as directed until the pests are gone. If it's raining or if you water from overhead, reapply after each event to keep it effective.

A few handy tips:

– Remove badly infested leaves if possible.
– Don’t spray on very hot days to avoid damaging your plants.
– Encourage natural predators like ladybugs and lacewings, which feed on aphids and whiteflies.

If neem oil doesn’t fully knock them down, you can follow up with eco-oil (another natural miticide/insecticide also from Yates) or, for more severe outbreaks, use Yates Pyrethrum Insect Pest Killer, but that one should be used carefully around flowering plants to protect bees.

Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask when spraying plants.

Re: How to treat plants with white fly and aphids?

Hello @BismaAbbid

You can spray again with the Yates 750ml Ready To Use Pest Oil. If you look at the back of the bottle it says, "apply as required". However, if the infestation is too much, I suggest using the Yates 200ml Pyrethrum Insect Pest Killer Concentrate. Please remember that this is a concentrate and must be diluted before use. Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask when spraying your plants. Please follow all the safety guidelines printed at the back of the bottle.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
