How to use Ryobi weed sprayer?

I have purchased the Ryobi Battery Weed Sprayer literally on the weekend and used it for the first time this evening. When initially pulling the trigger on the handle the fluid release under good pressure but after a few seconds is not as strong. Is this normal? Could it be a problem with how I set it up? Or do i need to unscrew the tip of the nozzle to be able to release more?

Re: Ryobi Weed Sprayer

Hello @pfloros

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Ryobi Battery Weed Sprayer.

I suggest testing that first solution you suggested and that is to unscrew the tip of the sprayer. If the spray is still weak, I recommend doing a few troubleshooting steps.

If you are going to troubleshoot the sprayer, I suggest transferring the chemical spray into another container and rinsing the Ryobi sprayer with water. Please make sure to wear gloves, goggles and a mask while handling the sprayer. Remember that there are still chemicals inside the sprayer pipe. Once you've rinsed it with water you can check the parts one by one.

  • Is the battery properly charged and seated in the machine? Four solid green bars will mean that the battery is fully charged.
  • Are the pipes kinked or twisted?
  • Are the hose connections properly seated and not installed on an angle?
  • Are there solid particles in the tank and was the chemical properly diluted before use?
  • Is the nozzle in the open position?
  • Is the power button properly engaged?
  • Is the trigger working properly and not half stuck to the open position?

If after extensive trouble shooting and the unit still malfunctions, I suggest returning the product to the store where you purchased it from. Please remember to bring all the accessories along with the box. Make sure to bring your docket or proof of purchase so that the customer service team can process an exchange.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric

Re: Ryobi Weed Sprayer

Hi @pfloros

The end nozzle on all the models controls the spray angle from a fine to heavier mist. The trigger depending on model will control the strength of the stream. Regardless the stream should be maintained throughout each trigger, not diminish. Debris in the line or tip is often the cause of strong to week operation.

Going through @EricL check list would resolve any issues before taking the unit back for an exchange
