Finding My Feet

Overgrown Melbourne garden makeover

Moved from Hobart to Melb late 2021 to house site unseen. Greeting us was overgrown trees, shrubs and uncared for block. We cut, trimmed and removed the overgrown. We wanted to establish a pretty, easy care, warm inviting garden utilising the sunny areas. We have achieved this in around just under 3 years. It’s the perfect place to relax in the sunshine and enjoy a wine with family and friends. We have pelicans, black swans, magpies and many varieties of birds visit us.

Materials

Fence paint and accessories, fertilisers, soils, pebbles, chain saw, Garden saws, large volcanic rocks, mulch and hundreds of plants and containers.

Tools

Chain saw, hand saws, spade, clippers, fence and decking paint, trellises, large garden planters for veggies. Wood to make large veggie boxes,

Re: Boiled lollies to chocolates - our garden

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @17121951. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for sharing your project with us.

What a wonderful transformation, and congratulations on all your hard work. It’s amazing to see how you’ve turned an overgrown, neglected block into a warm and inviting garden in just a few short years. The combination of volcanic rocks, pebbled pathways and large planters has created a well-balanced, easy-care space that still feels full of life and texture. It sounds like the perfect spot to relax in the sunshine and enjoy those visits from pelicans, black swans and magpies. A beautiful effort, and you should be very proud of what you’ve achieved.
