How to identify and treat termites in tree?
Hi all
My wife just cut down this small tree in our backyard and noticed that the tree is hollowed out and there seems to be the remnants of termites or ants or some other sort of bug.
Wondering:
A) can anybody can identify the cause (ie termites?)
B) what would you recommend for pest control?
C) if it’s worth getting a pest control person out to spray other areas of the house given this tree was right next to a wooden deck/wooden framed house.
thanks!

Re: Termites in tree?
Hi @canberraben,
Thank you for your question about a termite-infested tree.
I would suggest contacting a pest control specialist for their assistance as there appears to be a fairly large termite infestation that certainly has the potential to transfer into the property.
A pest control specialist will be able to inspect the property as a whole and offer a solution moving forward.
If there is any entry to the property, then it is best to catch it early.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
