Hi I am new to gardening and suddenly my cucumber plant leaves have gone like this. It has had water, liquid fertiliser. Is this a disease? Or do I need to get another product to save it?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @nikki87. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about cucumber care.
It looks like your cucumber plant has some sunscald or splash burn rather than a disease. The pale, bleached patches on the leaves usually happen when water droplets or liquid fertiliser sit on the foliage under strong sunlight, causing the leaf tissue to burn. To help your plant recover, trim off the worst affected leaves so it can focus its energy on producing new, healthy growth. Water early in the morning and aim for the base of the plant rather than watering from above. Avoid getting fertiliser on the leaves unless it’s a foliar spray made for that purpose, and if your plant is in full afternoon sun, provide some light shade during the hottest part of the day. As long as the new growth looks green and healthy, your cucumber should bounce back quickly.
