Hi
I'm looking to set up a small fish pond and am wondering which soil (specifically found at Bunnings) that can be used for potted water plants.
Hello @Dimity93
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about what soil to use to use for potted plants in a fishpond.
I suggest having a look at this discussion - How to grow plants in a pond? by @gillymrd. It is an excellent discussion about what medium to use when putting plants in your pond. In the discussion, I suggested using Brunnings 2.5L Hydro Clay Pebbles. They are baked clay balls made by baking and tumbling natural clay at high temperatures. As a result, they are super lightweight and porous with high air content. Hydro Clay Pebbles have a neutral pH value, are fungus free and will not rot. You'll also read about water quality control and fertilizing the plants in your pond.
If after reading the discussion you still have questions about setting up the plants in your pond, please don't hesitate to post them here.
