Why does this mower start, then turns itself off and yes the battery is fully charged.lawn is half burnt off height setting is set at number 3
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Cowdy4u. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about Ryobi lawn mowers.
I'm sorry to hear of the issues you're experiencing.
Can you check if this issue happens when the mower is stationary and not cutting grass, or if it only occurs under load while you are mowing? If it only happens under load, it usually indicates the grass is too long and the mower is overloading, so it shuts down to prevent damage. On height setting 3, this shouldn’t normally be a problem unless the grass is particularly long or thick.
A good test is to run the mower on a flat surface, hold the handle down, and see if it cuts out without actually mowing grass. If it does, that suggests the mower may be faulty. If it cuts out either while stationary or while cutting, I would recommend taking it back to the store where you purchased it and speaking with a Power Gardening Expert. They can inspect the mower and determine if it is faulty, and if it is under warranty, they should be able to arrange a replacement.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Changed battery works a bit better
It dosnt like it when the runnig service is a bit bumpy
Could you please share a bit more context about how the mower is behaving when it shuts off @Cowdy4u. For instance, does it cut out immediately when you hit a bump, or does it struggle for a few seconds before stopping? Knowing that will help us determine whether it’s a power issue or something related to the terrain.
Typically, mild undulations or slightly uneven ground shouldn’t cause the mower to shut off unless the bumps are so pronounced that the blades are making contact with the soil or thick clumps of grass. If that’s happening, it could be triggering the mower’s overload protection system, causing it to stop to prevent damage.
If you’ve noticed that it performs normally on flatter sections of the lawn but cuts out when it hits rougher or lower spots, that’s a good indication the terrain is affecting performance. Being an 18V version, they can struggle on longer, thicker grass and uneven surfaces, whereas the 36V version tends not to be affected as much. You might consider adding some topsoil or sand to the low spots to even out the ground.
As mentioned, if you continue to have issues, I would suggest taking the machine and having a chat with our in-store team.
