The paint on the frame of our oven near the door hinge has pitted and rust has developed. This is not in a food cntact area, being outside the oven cavity. The manufacturer says they cannot do anything. Is there some way of repairing this?
Hi @DLH1,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, and thank you for your question.
My suggestion would be to remove as much of the flaking paint as possible and whatever surface rust you can using a wire brush.
When it has been tidied up, tape off and protect any areas where you do not want paint, then use a brush to apply some White Knight Pot Belly Black High Temp Heat Resistant Paint to the affected areas.
This is a high-temperature resistant, black paint that will tidy up your oven and protect the areas that have flaked off.
Please let me know your thoughts, and if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Jacob
Thanks for that Jacob. Will probably give it a go and let you know how it works out.
