What fittings do I need for a countertop dishwasher?

I have purchased an Everdure counter top dishwasher from Bunnings but no one could tell me what fittings I need to connect it to a kitchen tap. I would appreciate any help please

Re: countertop dishwasher

Hello @aloron

In the kinetic packet is a male to male adapter. The middle item in the kinetic packet. You will have to test it and see if it will fit. You can then attache the third item and proceed with the install as seen on my diagram. If the sizes are not fitting we will have to try something else.

Re: countertop dishwasher

Hello Red, thank you for your help but I have one more question. The Everdure has two hoses which one should I use. Should there be a connection for two hoses or can this machine heat it’s own water.

Re: countertop dishwasher

Hello @aloron

The hose for the dishwasher is the one with a wide plastic attachment. The other one is the exit pipe. The unit makes its own hot water. Below is a picture of the hose that will need to be attached to the kitchen tap.

Hello @aloron

Can you please post a photo of the hoses ends.

Thanks

Re: countertop dishwasher

I do not have the dishwasher at my home. It is at the family home where it is to be installed. From what I remember it has the same hoses and connections as a clothes washing machine. Just a screw on connection. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

Re: countertop dishwasher

Hello @aloron

It's ok, on the day you try to install it make sure to take photos of the items that work and don't work so I can give you better information regarding the fitting. Oh and please post the model number of the dishwasher so I can get more info about its model and type. Good luck and stay safe.

Cheers,

Red

Hello Red, can I install one of these to the dishwasher hoses. I am not able to purchase the Kinetic adapters that have been suggested.  No Bunnings near my home have stock, The advice from Bunnings staff is “I don’t know”. Would you please advise me if Bunnings sell this product and what is the correct name please? I had one of these attachments on an old benchtop dishwasher  years ago and it was very easy to manage. Could it also work on a freestanding dishwasher?

Thank you again for your advice,

Regards,

aloron

Hi @aloron,

Let me mention @redracer01, so he is alerted to your question. Personally, I have never seen that fitting on offer.

Re: countertop dishwasher

Hello @aloron My apologies that you did not get advice from the team at the store. The item you have posted is a counter top dishwasher adapter from electrolux and can only be purchased online, it is not available at the store. However I'm not sure if it has any fittings that will allow you to connect to that goose neck sink mixer. My only other suggestion is to use a Holman 15mm Plain Tap Adaptor With Clamp . Please remember to use a tool to tighten the clamp on to the spout to avoid it from slipping out. Then connect a Pope 12mm Swivel Hose Connector . On the dishwasher inlet hose end connect a Nylex 12mm British Sprinkler Adapter then insert it in to the bottom end of the swivel hose connector. Once you see the parts you will know what I am describing. Can you tell me which branch you went to? I only ask so that I may speak to their plumbing specialist and perhaps he or she can offer advice for your connections. Other than that your other options are to connect to a different tap that has a standard aerator fitting on it. You will have to use a hose to connect to but at least it leaves the kitchen tap free to be used for something else. Change the kitchen tap to one that has a standard aerator fitting on it. Last option is to connect from the cold line inside the cabinet at the bottom of the sink. But at this junction I'm afraid its time to call in a professional and ask a plumber to connect a tap under the sink that is dedicated for the dishwasher. There is one more option that I just remembered and that is if you can wait for the kinetic tap adapter to be ordered at the special orders desk. It will then be specially ordered for you and you can give the kinetic adapter a try. Please keep us updated with your progress.

Re: countertop dishwasher

Thank you again, I went to Springvale and Nottinghill. The young girl at Nottinghill was no help, even though one of the girls sitting with her said she was an expert in dishwashers.

I also went to Dandenong and Keysborough but no one could spare the time to help and I wasn’t going to wait. I have purchased a kinetic adapter kit from Sydney. A lot dearer but I will have it by Monday with the covid lockdown I might have waited longer purchasing it from Bunnings. Thank you again, it’s nice to have someone that can give me some advice.

regards,

aloron
