How to fill hole in brick wall?

We removed a split system aircon from our wall and there is now a hole through the single brick wall connecting to our garage.

what would be the best method of filling this hole and the plastering up the wall ready for painting?

I was thinking a 2-part foam for filling the space?

Re: Filling hole in brick wall

Hello @Bprice88

Thanks for sharing your question about your brick wall. I propose using Parfix 340g Expanding Foam Filler to partially fill the hole. Once the foam has cured, I recommend using Dingo 10kg Mortar Mix to fill the front of the brick wall.

Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.

Good Evening @Bprice88

Yeah some foam filler and then mix that @EricL has suggested would work well. I had the same problem tho its on the second floor outside wall. So just foam was it

Re: Filling hole in brick wall

Hi @Bprice88

I would be inclined to use something more solid than expanding foam which isn't intended for this type of application. Instead use liquid nails to secure a block of timber or even a brick off-cut. Then builders bog the gaps ones the insert is set in place, Apply a smooth coat filler across the top, prime coat and paint.
