I've just pulled up all the carpet and tacking in my bedroom and living room. Both have aluminium framed windows that extend to the floor. In my bedroom there is a gap between where the concrete pad ends and where the window frame sits. It's a 1981build.
The new flooring will go up to the window frame so I won't see the gap but I don't want insects or other critters to make a home in the gap.
What can I fill the gap with before laying the new flooring? I want to be sure what ever I use wont cause long-term damage to the frame. The new flooring will go up to the window frame so I won't see the gap but I don't want insects or other critters to make a home in the gap and look for food in the house.
Cheers.
Hello @Cweeny
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about concrete pad.
I propose mixing up a small batch of Dingo 10kg Mortar Mix and filling in the gap using a Craftright 150mm Pointing Trowel. My best advice is to make sure that the mortar is fully cured and free of internal moisture before covering it up. Please note that if it is covered too early the trapped moisture will push through and can leave stains on carpet or loosen up tile adhesives.
