Re: how to remove bench from wall

Hi @De1,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

If you've inspected the whole bench, including the underside and inside the shelves and drawers, and you can't locate any screws or angle brackets, then it is fairly likely that it has been glued in place.

If this is the case, unfortunately, there is a pretty decent chance there will be some minor damage to the walls, but don't fret because it should be fairly easy to fix.

Start by putting on some gloves and long protective clothing, then using a utility knife to cut along the seams between the benchtop and wall. There's a good chance there is silicone or an adhesive around the perimeter of the benchtop.

Once this has been done, do the same to the seams where the benchtop sits on top of the cabinets. There's a good chance there is adhesive here as well.

Once you have done this, use a club hammer to hit the benchtop upwards. Start at one end and work your way to the other. As the adhesive disconnects, you will be able to move the benchtop more and more until it is free.

Once the benchtop can be removed, any damage to the walls can be patched up relatively easily and I am more than happy to offer ongoing support.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
