I have dents on my wardrobe sliding door, can this be repaired, or does it need a full door replacement?
Hi @arafath,
It looks like you have a vinyl-wrapped sliding door, which makes things a little bit tricky because vinyl is a single sheet applied across the whole surface. It is not painted, so patching it might not blend perfectly like it would on plasterboard.
You could still patch it, but there are no guarantees it will blend in perfectly. The only perfect solution is a replacement, but I think patching is worth a try.
You should start by tidying up the damage, using a utility knife to cut away the fractured vinyl. Make sure you wear gloves and long protective clothing to reduce the risk of lacerations.
Once tidied up, use a filler such as Spakfilla Rapid Gap Filler to fill the holes, give them a sand and then prime and paint to match the surroundings. The process is much the same as the one shown in How to Fix a Hole in the Wall.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
