What is the recommended best adhesive for timber slat wall panelling with felt backing .
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @cherie3. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about attaching panelling.
If you are referring to the Specrite acoustic panel, the installation instructions recommend using a construction adhesive, such as Liquid Nails.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thankyou for that ,I actually tried the liquid nails in the yellow tube as it said Kwik grab & suitable for vertical hanging. Maybe old stock ? Or perhaps should have waited a few minutes before applying board.? Eek, 🤦♀️ My DIY so far lol.
Hi @cherie3,
I'm sorry to see that it didn't quite go as planned, but fret not, once you have it in place, you're never going to see the evidence of the first attempt.
Typically, you would use screws as well as construction adhesive, as the screws will hold the adhesive firm against the wall while it cures and the surfaces bond to each other.
If you aren't using screws, you would need more adhesive than you've used, and you would need to support it while the adhesive sets.
Before applying the adhesive, use a pair of scissors to cut the nozzles so the hole is wider. You need a thick bead so when you press it onto the wall, it compresses. This will create suction that helps the adhesive really grab on.
To support the panel while the adhesive cures, you could wedge some framing timber between the panel and something heavy like a piece of furniture, or you could use strips of painter's tape to anchor it to the wall while the adhesive sets.
I would typically leave something like this propped up for at least 24 hours to ensure it is stuck on.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
