Has this aircon been installed incorrectly. Have noticed a couple of times of water or condensation marks appear in front of the air conditioner
Hi @tyso1987,
From what you've shown, it does look like moisture is escaping from the internal unit, which is not something you would normally expect to see. A small amount of condensation does naturally form inside the unit during operation, especially in humid conditions, but that moisture should be captured and directed away through the condensate drain, not leaking from the casing itself.
There are a few possible causes. It could be as simple as condensation building up internally and finding its way out due to high humidity or extended run times. However, it can also point to an installation-related issue, such as an incorrectly sloped indoor unit, a partially blocked condensate drain, or a drain that was not connected or sealed properly. Any of these can cause water to overflow internally and escape from the unit housing.
If this is a new installation, the best first step is to contact the installer and let them know what you are seeing. Most installers would want to inspect this, as it may fall under the installation warranty rather than being a fault with the air conditioner itself. If it is not a recent install, or if the issue continues, an air conditioning technician should inspect the unit to determine whether the problem is related to drainage, installation, or the internal components.
In the meantime, keep an eye on when it occurs, such as during very humid days or after long run times, as that information can be helpful for the technician. It is good that you have noticed it early, as addressing it now can prevent ongoing moisture damage.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
