Hi, I’m keen to get sensory swings this Christmas but don’t have any exposed beams indoors. Do you think this outdoor would be able to hold the weight? (This was part of the house when we bought so we can’t contact the manufacturer and ask) Thank you!
Hi @lynnod,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.
We get this kind of question fairly regularly, and unfortunately, the answer is always the same: you would need to either speak with the manufacturer of the roof structure or have a structural engineer inspect and design a solution for your roof structure.
Unfortunately, as swings place dynamic loads on the structure that were not originally planned for, we can't know if your roof would be able to support that load.
The only safe way to determine whether this is possible is to have a structural engineer assess the structure, do the math and then suggest a solution.
Apologies that I can't be more help.
Jacob
