Good evening, I’m about to make about 30 - 40 nesting boxes for my Land4Wildlife property. I want to use corrosion resistant hinges, obviously hinges are pretty expensive and so I was going to cut up piano hinges to do the job. The top of the nesting box will only be opened rarely.
Doing my research it appears not all stainless steel hinges use stainless steel pins.
on previous nest boxes I’ve had, the hinges have rusted and the lids fallen off!.
Do the Bunnings SS piano hinges have a stainless steel pin as well?
Any advice or ‘brain-waving’ on the issue would be appreciated.
Thanks 😊

Hi @ironbark,
What about something like this.
With stainless steel screws and cup washers.
That is 3mm try to find a thicken one.
Buy one roll and give it a try.
Mind you I have done chooks for 25-30 years and asking myself...'What about Mr Fox?'.
Cheers
