How to build a long screen using Screen Up system?
G'day, I'm looking to install an outdoor screen in our alfresco, between two brick pillars with approx 2660mm distance between them.
I'm looking at the Screen Up system, first time using them and have a question about how long the timber spans can be between two Rear Fix Screens
Would a length of approx 2660mm be ok if I used a Screen Up Brace / Cover Strip
Would you need two braces, or for a length that long would you need a joiner post in the middle?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @ncfindlay. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about the Screen-Up system.
The maximum recommended span between Screen Up posts is 2000mm, so for your 2660mm opening, you’ll definitely need a joiner post in the middle. That’ll give you two sections of approximately 1330mm each.
Because each span is over 1200mm, it's also recommended to use a Screen Up brace in the middle of each section to prevent sagging. Without the braces, the slats can bow over time—especially with sun and weather exposure—so this will help maintain a neat, straight appearance long-term.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: How to build a long screen using Screen Up system?
Thanks for that, was hoping I could get by without a joiner for ease/cost, but better to do it properly the first time
I struggled to find any joiners on the Bunnings website, unless it's the corner posts which can be adjusted to become a joiner? If so, they had a height of 2m if I remember correctly, so can they be cut down if needed? Height I'm looking at is likely only going to be 900-1200mm

Re: How to build a long screen using Screen Up system?
Hi @ncfindlay,
You'll use the Jack 1970mm Screen Up Corner Post. It has slots and cover strips, which allow you to use it as a joiner, corner, or end post. It can be cut to size.
