Hi team,
I need some help and suggestions for my pergola project. The pergola will be 6 meters long and 3 meters wide.
I was looking at some posts for the structure and came across these:
100 x 100mm, 2.4m H4 Treated Pine Post (Bunnings)
Are these posts suitable for my pergola, or should I use 90 x 90mm H3-treated posts instead?
I’ll also attach some photos for reference.
Thanks in advance!
Hello @savtar13
Before you begin, I suggest checking your local council's rules and regulations regarding the size of your pergola. I suspect that there are height and size restrictions that must be followed. Because of the size you'll be building at, I propose engaging the services of a draftsperson to draw up a basic plan for you. They'll be able to integrate any of your requests that you might want built into the plan. Plus, it will be safe, built to code and will pass inspection.
In regards to post sizes, your draftsperson will be able to guide you as to what the size is appropriate for your build.
