How to fill a gap in the fence?

We are having a pool installed and there is a gap here in the fence. Any suggestions for how to fill this gap. It needs to be taller so no one can use it as a step.

Re: How to fill a gap in the fence

Hello @Starter1503

Thanks for sharing your question about the gap in your fence. I propose using 150 x 25mm Plinth H4 Treated Pine Sawn Wet 2.4m and installing it on the last post of the Colorbond fence. I suggest using Self tapping steel screws at 50mm in length in 10g at least. My best advice is to drill pilot holes to prevent cracking the timber. the other options are 140 x 19mm SpecRite Merbau Pre-Oiled Decking - Random Lengths and Ekodeck 137 x 23mm 5.4m Backbeach/Leatherwood Designer Series Composite Decking

Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1, @Nailbag and @Noyade for their recommendations.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to fill a gap in the fence

Good morning @Starter1503

My head went straight to a piece of Merbau screwed vertically to the side of the green fence. Multiply screws to give it a solid attachment. You could even cut a notch in the base to go around teh rail of the cream fence.

What's the width of the gap @Starter1503 as potentially a wide fence paling might do the job for a handful of $
