While I was turning my water mains off, the handle snapped off. Anyone know how I can replace the tap part or get the rest of the handle out so I can insert an anti theft handle I have?
Hello @eb26
Welcome to the Bunnings Worskhop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks you for sharing your question about your water tap.
Just a friendly reminder that any plumbing work must be carried out by a licensed plumber for safety and compliance.
It appears to be a Kinetic 15mm Male/Male Brass T Head Stop Cock. However, it is difficult to tell what the actual brass size is as there is no tag shown on the brass body. The store currently does not carry a locking mechanism for this type of tap. I suggest engaging the services of a plumber to change the stop cock or have it moved to a more secure location where it can't be easily accessed.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
Hi eb26,
Not a DIY you will need a plumber to access the stop tap/cock which could be in a box on your side or buried in the nature strip.
Wherever it is you should not attempt repairs.
Cheers
Hi @eb26
"While I was turning my water mains off, the handle snapped off."
If this is pre-meter - ring your water utility supplier - they will fix it for free.
That has been my experience.
Cheers.
