I have a balcony that gets plenty of sunlight (NE facing and uncovered) but there is something growing in the grout between the pavers. It's white and fuzzy (see picture) with a weird smell if you get close enough. Possibly some type of mould or lichen? Hopefully not toxic? If anybody could tell me what it might be and how to remove it, I would be very groutful. Thank you so much!
Hello @LittleTeach
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your paver grout.
I suspect that it is either moss or mould or a combination of both. I suggest using 30 Seconds 5L Outdoor Cleaner Concentrate in combination with Oates Long Handle Deck Scrub Brush. Please note that the 30 Seconds is a concentrate and must be diluted before use. Once you've removed the moss, mould and lichen on the surface of your pavers, I suggest using Dunlop 250ml Grout Sealer on the grout to prevent mould growth. Please make sure that the grout surface is totally dry before you apply the sealer.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
