Hi ,
I have noticed that the top of the galvanized post in my retaining wall has rust . Can anyone please let me know how can i remove the rust ?
Thanks
Hello @Cham1
The good news is that it appears to surface rust only. I suggest sanding the surface until all the rust is gone. I then recommend using rust converter on the exposed steel. Once the rust converter has dried off wipe the surface clean until there is no greasy or oily residue. I recommend using White Knight 300g Cold Gal Silver Rust Guard Spray Paint to seal the surface. Please remember to cover the area with drop cloth to prevent over painting. I suggest using White Knight 300g Cold Gal Silver Rust Guard Spray Paint to paint over the exposed steel.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks @EricL
can i use the white vinegar to remove the rust ? also instead of the white knight 300g Cold Gal Silver rust guard can i use the Dulux 400g Metalshield Zinc Galv Spraypak Grey
Hello @Cham1
The vinegar is worth a try, but it all depends on how deep the rust layer is. My best advice is to use steel wool to scrub the surface and make sure to wash the entire area with water to neutralize the vinegar. Yes, you can use Dulux 400g Metalshield Zinc Galv Spraypak Grey as a cover spray.
