Joining modular deck frame kit

Joining modular deck frame kit

I am about to self build a backyard deck with Bunnings base frame kit. As I need to combine 5 long x 3 deep, what screws or nails would be best to join each completed frame to another and  all together.

Fixings guide is here

http://goodtimesdecking.com/assets/how_to_booklet_v5.pdf

It says to join 140 x 35 frames together use 6 14-10 x 65mm Hex Head Type 17 screws.

Search comes up with a list of 4.

14-10 x 65

To put the frames together 16 14-10 75mm Bugle Head Type17 screws.

14-10 75mm Bugle Head Screws

For the single frame thickness Steel Supports

12g x 30 Hex

If your using traditional fasteners for the deck 10-8 x 65mm Galvanised Countersunk Rib Philips Head.

10-8 65mm Countersunk Philips Head

I prefer square drives as they tend not to slip while fastening. Climacoat instead of galv.

10-8 Square Drive

Hope that helps.
