Need yard design ideas to stop water entering the house

We have recently built our house at River Heads, the land has a slope at the front to the back of the property.

We want some design ideas to stop the water from entering the house and the shed at the back of the property plus the land needs to be leveled so we can put the driveway and finally plan for a vegetable garden at the back of the property

Re: Need yard design ideas to stop water entering the house

Hi @nithya_ravi,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and congratulations on your new house. This must be an exciting time for you.

My immediate response to your post is to encourage you to enlist the services of a registered plumber as it sounds like you have significant drainage issues to deal with. Water getting into your new home sounds most concerning and should obviously be a priority to address.

In terms of garden design, the guide How to plan a garden makeover would be a great place to start. Experienced member @Adam_W stresses the need to develop a comprehensive plan by first thinking carefully about your needs and wishes.

You will find plenty of inspiration on this site shared by Bunnings Workshop community members. For example, you can filter our Featured Projects by Garden

Once you have a little more of a plan and/or a wishlist, I would encourage you to share more details about your property so members can see what you are working with and understand what you want to achieve. Some photos and visual plans would be great. We have a helpful community who will be more than happy to share advice and encouragement.
