Hi
I have a glass sliding door already installed at enterence to Alfresco
Sliding door has rail to install sliding door flyscreen
I need some guidance how to do DIY Flyscreen sliding door
Hi @Syedbukhari,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.
Can I ask you to share some photos of the door, as well as some close-ups of the track? We'd also need to know the dimensions of the channel track as well as how wide the opening is.
Unfortunately, sliding doors are not like simple flyscreen frames that can be put together D.I.Y. The frames around sliding screen doors are solid and need to be able to resist the forces that will be applied to them. Retrofitting them is also not exactly a simple task, as you need to ensure they are compatible with the existing track.
There are options that can be ordered, such as this Cowdroy Stainless Steel Mesh Barrier Sliding Door, but we would need to confirm whether they are compatible with what you have. Alternatively, you could replace the tracks to suit them.
Alternatively, there are options like this Pillar 2040 x 1000mm Link Screen Pleated Flyscreen Door, which comes with its own track that would need to be installed.
Ultimately, we would need to see what you are working with to be able to advise a way forward, but based on the description, it is unlikely to be a simple case of putting a frame together and installing it. You will likely need to order the door custom and potentially alter the tracks if we can't confirm they are compatible.
Let me know what you think and if you require assistance uploading images, please let me know.
