Okidokie…what kind of stabilisers or steadies are recommended for our retro vans?
My ‘77 Viscount has back stabilisers only, I’d like to find suitable “corner” steadies or jacks or stabilisers that actually take some weight off the poor ol Jockey wheel!… I can’t seem to find the tripod or quadpod (…) style ones at Bunnings that aren’t ratchet jacks…
Hello @CrikeyCoral
I've made a thorough search on the website, and I can't find a tripod or quadpod type caravan stabilizers.
The closest stabilizers I could find are these types which are single drop-down foot type systems:
The best part of these stabilizers are that they are attached to the caravan itself and saves you from having to bring it in and out of the caravan.
Let me call on our experienced members @twocutekelpies and @Peggers for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
Hi @CrikeyCoral
I have back stabilisers only as well and use the ones you've pictured for the front, they stack so don't take up much space and work effectively under the front to steady the whole van, also handy if something happens to the jockey wheel and you need to put something under the drawbar.
As Eric said, ideally something permanent under the front like the rear ones would save storage space inside.
Cheers
Shelley
