Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @ekelly. It's fantastic that you've joined us and many thanks for your question.

It would be helpful if you told us a little more about the issue. Is there a reason why the garden seat is unstable? Perhaps you have it on grass, and it keeps sinking in? Once with know exactly how to assist, I trust our knowledgeable members will have some fantastic solutions for you.

I have a New garden seat to be placed underneath a Oleander Tree. The area underneath the tree,is where l want the seat to go.This area is just soil.

Looking forward to any idea's, in which l can put over the flattened soil for a stable setting.e.g big pavers,?artificial lawn?.. unsure.

Will take a photo of the area, and post it shortly.

Re: What product to place underneath an outdoor garden seat for stability.

Elaine @ekelly,

I'm a fan of using eight 300 x 300mm pavers. That has worked really well for me in the past when positioning a bench seat on grass. Anything with a significant surface area should work just fine.

Re: What product to place underneath an outdoor garden seat for stability.

Hi Elaine (@ekelly),

I had another think about your project, and if you'd like to add some interest, you could place some pebbles in between the pavers. The area could be bordered with some garden edging, which would create a defined area and contain the pebbles.

I think this would look lovely.

Please let me know if you need any assistance with achieving something like this.

Re: What product to place underneath an outdoor garden seat for stability.

Hi Mitchell,

Whow!! that looks absolutely fantastic, and it makes the garden seat a real feature😀

Two Questions.....Would it be okay to step up, and down, from the seat.?

People couldn't trip or fall?

Otherwise it looks an amazing idea.

Cheers

Re: What product to place underneath an outdoor garden seat for stability.

Hi Elaine (@ekelly),

Sorry, it wasn't particularly obvious from my picture, but my intention was to have no step up. Here's another one where I've placed the ground in it. The edging, pavers and pebbles would be flush with the ground and only a small lip of edging above ground. I don't believe this will be a trip issue.

Hi Elaine (@ekelly),

You should find these step-by-step guides useful: How to install garden edging and How to lay pavers. If you have any difficulty following them or have some more questions, please let me know.
