Hi Guys,
Seems my bolt door lock has given away...I am not able to retract the bolt. I have to expose the lock but am not able to take off the protective ring cover?
Any recommendations?
Susan B
Hello @susan9120
I propose trying this technique. Rotate the protective ring cover until the cut-out slit is vertical and not on an angle. Line it up with the body of the locking snib. Hold the ring cover steady with your left hand making sure that it does not move or twist. Slowly turn the snib either left or right to see if the deadbolt moves back in.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1, @Noyade and @JoeAzza for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Good morning @susan9120
Mmmmm I am unsure, I know it "Must" be able to coem off butthe wide part of the handle is what keeps tripping me up.
Was it secured with screws through those two screw holes previously?
That notch in the bottom plate really looks like its there for a reason, I would step through @EricL 's suggestion and see if anything happens.
"Puzzled" at the moment 😕
Dave

Used WD40 and was able wiggle the bolt in...
