How to cleanly cut acoustic pinboards?

How to CLEANLY cut the Bunnings Acoustic Pinboards?. (1200x800mm) It appears using a stanley knife creates uneven jagged edges..

I need to make them 80 x 80cm (cutting 40cm off the end of each)

This is not my field, but would purchasing some kind of heating knife help cut like butter? (or some kind of tool on the end of a soldering iron or wood cutting device?)

Failing that, can I return to Bunnings and pay them to cut them?

Thank you kindly!

Re: How to CLEANLY cut the Bunnings Acoustic Pinboards?

Hi @Sandii,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

The acoustic pinboards are woven polyester, so if you aren't using a brand new, extremely sharp knife, you might find that the fibres are being pulled rather than severed, which can create a jagged edge.

I would just use a pair of quality scissors. This will ensure the fibres are severed, not pulled.

Unfortunately, we do not offer a cutting service for the acoustic pinboard panels, so you would have to do it at home.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
