How to fill in door knob jams?

How to fill in these door knob jams? The doors must’ve had the old style door handles, the old owners have tried to patch it up but it looks horrible. How to fill in the massive gaps left from the old door handles so I can screw in newer ones properly? It looks like they have tried to use putty. Or am I better off buying new doors all together? Ive attached a photo of what needs to be filled in 😊

Re: how to fill in door knob jams

Hello @chloefrancis

Thanks for sharing your question about your door knob jambs. It appears that doors have been damaged before and on closer inspection I think it would be better to replace the doors rather than attempt a repair. I suggest measuring the size of your doors and see if there are any that match at the store. Otherwise, I recommend going to the special orders desk and ask for a quote for the size of your custom doors.

As for the door frame and the cutout latch receiver, I suggest patching it up with timber and filling the gaps with Builder's bog.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
