May be the key comes out in certain positions?

Re: how to remove a key.

Hi @maurice1,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

As @J-P has said, maybe the lock will only come out if it is oriented in a specific direction.

Try rotating the key around and giving it a jiggle; sometimes, they can just catch a bit on the internal mechanisms.

Adding some Graphite Powder can also help to lubricate the lock, which can help the motion of the key.

If the problem is persistent, then the key may be ever so slightly burred or a little bit damaged, in which case having a replacement key cut could help.

If the problem persists, the lock may have an issue. If this is the case, I recommend returning it and replacing it with another Lockwood 001 dead latch.

Let me know how you go.

Re: how to remove a key.

Hi maurice..

If you still haven't been able to remove the key..one thing you could try is to turn the key to the vertical position and lightly tap it up and down..

Continue tapping and pulling..and pull the key with pliers..It might just come free..

Re: how to remove a key.

Hi @J-P,

As suggested the key can only be removed when it is fully turned either to the left or right.

Let us know how that works out and if needed I will do a video for you.

Cheers
