Hi there. I'm wanting to paint my 5 Alfresco sliding doors, a big job!
When the house was built my choice of stain was black or red. I wanted white. They couldn't do it so have left them unstained ( and charged me $700 for the privilege!)
Paint isn't just paint obviously..I wish it were! But primer, sealer, stainblocker and undercoat isn't either. I popped to local Mitre 10 where I was directed to Multi Prep, but I prefer to select premium paints so the job is done right first time.
Can you advise what product is best? And do I need different paint for the outside?
Hello @klubear
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about painting your sliding doors.
I propose looking at either Zinsser 1L White Bulls Eye Primer Undercoat Sealer And Stain Blocker and the Dulux 1Step Prep Primer, Sealer & Undercoat 4L. Both have stain and tannin blocking abilities and have UV resistance integrated into them. Both of them are water based which makes cleaning and tidying up that much easier. This also gives you the freedom to choose a water-based top coat. I recommend looking at the Dulux 4L Aquanamel Semi Gloss White Enamel Paint or the Taubmans 4L White Semi Gloss Water Based Enamel Paint for your doors. Both can be tainted to the colour of your choice.
