How to build laundry cabinets?

Hi, I am looking at doing something similar to the below image. I’m looking at having the front loader wash and dryer side-by-side. I’ll have Kaboodle base units (400mm and 200mm) either side of the washer+dryer. I’m looking at using the Think Solid bench top. My questions are; how would I have support for the bench top over the washer/dryer as the gap for the two will be 1300mm? Also would I need to install kick boards or end panels on the inside of the washer/dryer gap?

Thanks!

Re: How to build laundry cabinets?

Hello @aahol1

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your laundry renovation.

If you are thinking of using Think solid surface benchtops, you'll need speak to your local stores In-store kitchen specialist regarding the span. The Think solid surface benchtops can only be installed by certified trades. However, if you are installing Think timber benchtops these can easily be supported with angle brackets at the back and on the sides.

Installing a panel in between the two machines is at your discretion. It's not necessary to install one. Generally, washing machines and driers are full height at around 860mm. Therefore, no gaps will be produced, and kickboards don't need to be installed.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
