Hi Experts
I am experiencing this issue all brands of toilet cleaners block stuck in the cistern base although all of them are placed away from the water inlet
I have got 3 cisterns at home ,,,,please see attached video
Is this normal ?
Thx
Good Evening @zillah
Would it be possible to add the names of the products that you are trying? And have you dropped the blue bricks in the same spot of all your cisterns?
My first thought was to place the blue brick in a takeaway plastic container with a bunch of largish holes in it but that would probarly float
marbles in the same container or small rocks would keep it under the water but we are getting into an over complicated solution ![]()
Ive used ones that have a little wire to loop over the edge to hold it in place and even thrown the block in with an issue, I wonder if you put the block to the far left of the video?

As suggested they should be placed away from the water inlet (which is far left of the of the vifeo)
Thx
Hi Jacob
I haven't had an issue of blocking.
My issue the product sticking at the base of cisterns while it should be dissolved with water
Hi @zillah,
Apologies, I missed the meaning of your question.
How long have they been in the cistern?
My understanding is that they will slowly dissolve over the course of a number of flushes.
As the water is blue, it appears they are doing exactly what they are supposed to.
Please let me know if I am again misinterpreting.
Jacob
Hi Jacob
It stays in a cistern for 2 to 3 weeks ,,,,,what happened when a block almost exhausted water color gets faded or no color noticeable and the last bit of the block get stuck to the base what I have to do I have to stir water in the cistern by hand to release the stuck bit and I then use a new toilet block.
Means toilet cleaner block won't get dissolved completely by itself
Regards
Hi @zillah,
Is it causing any problems sitting at the bottom of the cistern?
I imagine you could just drop another block in the cistern and over time it would work itself out.
Otherwise, agitating it with something like what you have been doing seems like the only solution.
Jacob
Morning Jacob
Not causing any problems
Okay i guess i will drop another block and won’t bother about the left over from the previous one
Regards
Or just stop dropping blocks?
