Hi
The basin in our bathroom has a small crack in it as seen in the image below. Does the whole fixture need to be replaced or can something be put in the crack to make it go away? Will really appreciate any guidance.
Thanks
Hi @simonsd054,
I'd suggest using this Rust-Oleum 13.3ml White Tub And Tile Touch Up Kit to repair the hairline crack in your basin.
It is a two-part epoxy paint that has been designed for touching up cracks in basins like yours.
Clean the basin using CLR Bathroom And Kitchen Cleaner, agitating with a scourer.
Once clean, wet sand the crack with 600 Grit Wet And Dry Sandpaper, then wash the surface with clean water and allow it to dry.
You can then mix the epoxy paint and apply it with a craft brush.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Jacob
Hi JacobZ,
Sorry for the late response.
Thank you for your reply. I just opened this post today to order the items and realised that the touch up kit is no longer available in the website. Can you please provide me with an alternative?
Regards,
Simon
Hi Simon (@simonsd054),
Unfortunately, there isn't really an alternative. This Rust-Oleum 946ml White Gloss Tub And Tile Refinishing Kit is the same, although it is a much larger size, so it is not really practical for your situation.
They are still available; they might just not be in stock at the store you have selected on our website as your store. I'd suggest giving your local store a call and asking if they can either Special Order one or have one transferred from another store.
Let me know if you have any issues, I can certainly assist further if required.
Jacob
Thank you Jacob.
