How to lay fibre cement over yellow tongue?

I'm redoing my bathroom and removing existing tiles etc.

What adhesive do I need to use when laying new FC sheet over the yellow tounge?

Here's the installation guide for James Hardie Ceramic Tile Underlay. James Hardie recommends using an acrylic stud adhesive and mechanical fixings.

Hi Mitchell 

Yes I've read the instructions for installation but it's very vague on what product to use and as this is for a wet area it's important to use the correct product. I am struggling to find a bunnings product for both wet areas and cement sheet to timber floor. Can you advise of the correct bunnings product to use for this?

The only acrylic stud underlay I could find on the website is the Gyprock and Bastion brand. There are other possible options, but please allow us to double check with James Hardie to make sure we are giving you the right advice. As soon as we have more information, we'll get back to you.

Hi @twalker44,

James Hardie recommends any acrylic stud adhesive, so there is Gyprock CSR 1kg Acrylic Stud Adhesive or Bastion 5.2kg Stud Adhesive. As they don't produce one themselves, they don't specifically mention a particular product. I confirmed with them yesterday that either of these two products are suitable. If you have questions about the adhesive, they suggested you contact their technical team directly on Ph: 13 11 03 or through their Contact Us page.
