How to make your laundry a utility room!

20220630_160446.jpgWe have talked about making our laundry a more "useful" space for about 10 years. A plumbing upgrade upstairs necessitated us amending the plumbing in the laundry so we got inspired.

Now we have phone and laptop charging, ample storage for our everyday bags, herbs on the windowsill, an area to craft and sew as well as launder ..very happy with the end result!

Re: How to make your laundry a utility room!

Hello @goofygaffney

That utility/laundry room makeover definitely ticks all the boxes crafting, charging, storage and laundry. But let's not forget the most important part are the herbs on the window sill. That new layout is much more effective and makes better use of the space. Did you use a real timber benchtop or is it a laminated top that looks like timber? That blue feature wall blends in so well with the rest of the room and makes it feel relaxing.

Thank you very much for sharing your utility/laundry room revamp.

We look forward to seeing your next project.

Re: How to make your laundry a utility room!

Hi Eric,

This is a wood look laminate in a 3.2 m length so no seams. For a wet area with craft the laminate offers a more practical solution with the warmth of a wood. The Shelves are real oak and then we used bamboo accessories.

and yes the herbs was a stroke of genius, they love this spot and the possums cant get to them !

Thanks

Brigid
