How to stop hot side leaking from bathroom sink Foreno mixer?

How to stop hot side leaking from bathroom sink 2 year old Foreno mixer?

When we shut off the hot/warm side of our mixer it leaks however the cold water side it doesn't tend to.

Any ideas please? Will adding a washer or a new headworks stop this?

We can't figure out where to open from the top also?

Appreciate help please!

Hello @Maxtiger mixer taps are unique creatures and instead of a replacement washer they require a replacement tap cartridge, as I am not familiar with your particular tap I can only suggest a starting point to give you an idea of what to look for, the Staff at Bunnings will be of further assistance if you can attend with the old cartridge once you have disassembled the tap.

Hi @Maxtiger

Foreno  Cartridge removal  Guide as  follows

Take  your cartridge to bunnings an ask for help to match up a replacment as @DIYGnome  suggested.

Re: How to stop hot side leaking from bathroom sink Foreno mixer?

Hello @Maxtiger

Thank you for sharing your question about your basin mixer. It's great that you've received excellent suggestions from @DIYGnome and @Jewelleryrescue

The tap handle is held in place with a grub screw and is located under the handle of the basin. If you run your finger along the back of the tap there might be a small access hole for you to slide an Allen key in. If there is no hole at the back, it's likely that the handle will need to be in the lifted/on position and as you turn the handle to the left or right an access point will reveal itself.

I suggest turning your mains water off before you start searching for the access point on the tap handle. Should you succeed in removing the handle, I suggest following Jewelleryrescue's suggestion on how to replace the cartridge.

But if it proves to be too difficult, I suggest replacing the tap with a Greens Gun Metal Avalon Basin Mixer which is very similar to your basin mixer.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
