Hello!
I’ve currently started my first home mini project adding more storage to my euro laundry. The plan was to install a wall cabinet on one side and 2 shelves running from the end of the cabinet to the wall.
After installing the wall cabinet, I’m trying to figure out how to best install the shelves.
I plan to cut the Specrite multi use 18mm panel into two 810 x 300mm shelves weighing about 2.5kg each.
Currently there is one stud available which I have marked in the photo below however it is in an awkward position which would mean that if I used it for the brackets they not look evenly spread.
How could I go about putting up brackets or supporting the shelves? Would anchor screws be an alternative?
Any advice to a novice would be greatly appreciated!
Hello @Smcgo
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your shelves.
I propose using Hafele 23 x 23mm Angle Bracket - 20 Pack to support the shelves. I propose using Zenith 8G x 15mm Galvanised Button Head Stitching Timber Screws - 35 Pack to anchor to the cabinet, Zenith 8G x 40mm Countersunk Rib Head Chipboard Screws - 28 Pack to anchor to the stud wall and Ramset M5 x 9mm Plasterboard Hollow Wall Anchor - 4 Pack for sections with no studs.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
