This low-cost makeover gives a 2011 Crusader caravan a fresh, contemporary look.

The project

We purchased a 2011 Crusader caravan and just loved the floor space and layout, but sadly the decor was a bit tired.

On one trip we started thinking about giving her a new look … and that was it! We were off to Bunnings and Gracie the Glamavan was transformed!

The materials

  • Dulux primer
  • Porter's Paints Eggshell for cabinets and walls
  • Dulux Suede Effect for splashbacks
  • Dulux Metallic Effect for fridge
  • Recycled floor panels
  • New blinds.

Total cost: $2200

We absolutely love the result. All brushes and materials were from Bunnings in Clarkson, WA.

Was the existing vinyl removed or layed over the top in this reno?

Hi @Bec08

It appears to be laid over the top, but it is hard to tell. Allow me to tag @Taniatee31 so they are notified of your question.

Also, welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

Hi @Bec08

we laid the vinyl planking over the Lino, it's worked a treat ☺️

@Taniatee31 @Can you tell me what brand/type the planks were and if you did anything to prepare the Lino underneath

Hi @Bec08

Let me tag @Taniatee31 to make them aware of your question. If you do decide to stick flooring onto your old flooring, I suggest washing the surface with a scrubber and detergent to make sure that the surface is clean and free of debris.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

@Bec08

an adhesive was used and the planking was old planking from Harvey Norman we had in our house.

we did a major reno there too and replaced the flooring, so figured we could recycle it.

its great as it doesn't creek anymore

☺️
