Can epoxy be laid on sun exposed area of the garage floor?

I'm hoping to use the Dy mark diy kit on the garage floor. I found couple of guides here as well.

My question is around what to do for the floor area just outside the garage door. This is a continuation of the internal floor, but exposed to the sun/UV. None of the guides cover this scenario.

Re: sun exposed area of the garage floor when applying epoxy

Hello @riziqbl

Thanks for sharing your question about Dy Mark garage floor epoxy paint. I can only advise you to paint up to the section where it is not exposed to direct sunlight. Any section exposed to daily direct sunlight will shorten the life of the epoxy paint. It can lead to fading, chalking, or reduced durability.

I propose using a different paint product outside which is rated for UV exposure. An example is the White Knight Ultra Pave 10L White Heavy Duty Paving and Concrete Paint. It is rated for indoor/outdoor use and can be tinted to various colours.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric

Re: sun exposed area of the garage floor when applying epoxy

Thanks for the reply Eric. I was hoping the whole floor can be epoxy. But what you say makes sense. Will use a different product for the exposed areas.
