Re: how to install Pfeiffer 200mm Aluminium Adjustable Flyscreen Door my door opening 148 x 182

Hi @etet,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

The Pfeiffer 200mm Aluminium Adjustable Flyscreen Doors are designed to expand vertically and sit in the track of sliding doors next to the door. If your shed had a sliding door track, it would be a simple case of placing it in the track and expanding it till the top edge sits in the top channel then closing the door on it. At only 200mm wide, they are not designed to act like a full door, but rather to allow some airflow while keeping the bugs out.

If your shed does not have a track like this, we would need to see what you are working with to offer some guidance.

Can I trouble you to upload some photos of the door and the door frame?

Let me know if you need assistance uploading images. I am happy to help if required.

Unfortunately, if your shed does not have a sliding door, you may have to look at alternatives, but I will wait and see, then assist further.

Re: how to install Pfeiffer 200mm Aluminium Adjustable Flyscreen Door my door opening 148 x 182

Hi Jacob thanks for your reply. I'm buying the Barakula shed by stilla. I think the door is 1910 x 770 opening. Not sure. There is no track as the external door is opening out door like French door. Please see the instructions and advise what is my door size opening and please advise what else I have to buy. If this is suitable? If not any alternative? Just the cheapest way as this is only a studio shed. Please see attached

Re: how to install Pfeiffer 200mm Aluminium Adjustable Flyscreen Door my door opening 148 x 182

Hi @etet,

I've had a look at the instructions for the Stilla Timber 3.13m x 3.05m Barakula Studio, and if you are using a single door set-up, then the door is 1885x825mm, which would make the door opening around 1900x840.

If you were looking for a relatively easy way to install a fly screen, you could use the Pillar 90 x 200cm Black Magnetic Strip Flyscreen Door Curtain on the inside of the door. You would just attach the adhesive magnetic strip to the inside of the door frame, then hang the flyscreen from this magnetic strip.

If you wanted something more solid, you'd have to build out an additional frame on the inside of the door so you can install a screen door.

Let me know what you think.

Re: how to install Pfeiffer 200mm Aluminium Adjustable Flyscreen Door my door opening 148 x 182

Thanks Jacob

My handyman is finding ways for my door. He most likely charge me a fortune but I found this as a cheap alternative. He might not be aware of this product and how to use it.

Would you kindly send me instructions how to install what to buy, do I have to buy tracks as there are no tracks supplied Roughly how much in total ?

Many thanks again.

Kindest regards

Re: how to install Pfeiffer 200mm Aluminium Adjustable Flyscreen Door my door opening 148 x 182

Hi @etet

The cheapest and easiest solution would be to simply install an actual dog door in to the shed door. I install this brand very regularly as you can control the direction from fully locked, or one way in/out. The door is semi-see through which dogs are more comfortable to use and learn faster to use the door. And the magnet isn't too strong for smaller breeds. You just select one suitable for your sized dog.

When installing the handyman wont need to use the internal insert frame as the shed door will be half the thickness of a standard house door for which they are designed for. Should be an hour at most and he will need to supply short wood screws as the supplied will be too long.

Re: how to install Pfeiffer 200mm Aluminium Adjustable Flyscreen Door my door opening 148 x 182

Hi @etet,

Which product are you referring to?

Unfortunately, the Pfeiffer Adjustable Flyscreen Door is not a viable option as you don't have a sliding door.

The magnetic flyscreen comes with an adhesive-backed magnetic strip that is stuck to a surface around the opening. The flyscreen is then attached magnetically to this strip. It is not going to be as solid as a screen door, but it is an option that wouldn't require any other purchases or a tricky install.

If you have any further details you can add, or need further clarification I would be happy to assist further.
