How to seal a gable shed roof?

My shed is surrounded by Moonah trees and the fine leaves get into the shed and make a lot of mess. I have also noticed that the roof leaks at a couple of points along the gable line.

What could I use to seal the join.

Thank you

Re: Seal a gable shed roof

Hello @Sammylou

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your sheds gabled roof.

I propose using Selleys 290ml Grey Storm Waterproof Gutter And Roof Sealant on every small hole that could be a possible entrance for the leaves into your shed. I also recommend covering the heads of the roof screws holding the roof sheets. For the larger gaps, I suggest using Parfix 340g Expanding Foam Filler on the larger gaps and unusual spaces that are present in your shed roof. Please keep in mind that the foam expands to three times its size so please use sparingly.

For the interior of the shed and the parts that can't be covered with either silicone or foam, I suggest using Norton Bear 50mm x 25m Silver Cloth Tape to cover those unusual gaps. My best advice is to trim the Moonah branches, if possible, in order to reduce the amount of leaves falling on the shed.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
